Patenkompanie Stetten a.k.M.

In 2000, a sponsorship was established between the city of Villingen-Schwenningen and the Panzerpionierkompanie 550. At that time, the tank pioneers were stationed in the Villingen barracks.

Despite their relocation to Immendingen or Stetten am kalten Markt, there is still an intensive sponsorship today. Regular exchanges, joint appeals and activities between the town of Villingen-Schwenningen and the soldiers are characterized by mutual integration and appreciation, but also by a special and intensively lived friendship. The tank pioneers not only maintain close ties with the town, but also have friendly ties with local traditional clubs.

More about the partnership:

Especially the many supporters of the sponsoring company should be mentioned. For example, the pioneers supported the city of Villingen-Schwenningen at the State Garden Show 2010. With their expertise and their manpower they built a bridge between the two parts of the State Garden Show in Schwenningen and thus made a major contribution to this special event. This year, the city was pleased about the support of the soldiers at the Zähringer meeting on 28 and 29 January.

The Panzerpionierkompanie 550 is one of the oldest existing troop types and an integral part of the German Army. They are experts with versatile skills and are qualified above all in opening and removing barriers, but also in creating barriers, building bridges and also in supporting the safety of the soldiers in operations. They are also trained to set up camps and protection facilities and are equipped with large equipment such as bridge-laying tanks, demining tanks, buoyant transport tanks and countless construction vehicles. Missions in Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Elbe flood and Afghanistan were accompanied by the soldiers of the Panzerpionierkompanie 550.
